SC Department of Mental Health Employees Receive Awards from NAMI-SC

Three SC Department of Mental Health (SCDMH) employees received the Mental Health Professional of the Year Award at the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill in SC’s (NAMI-SC) annual meeting, held November 13-14 in Charleston.

Maureen Phlegar, administrative assistant to the director of the Charleston Dorchester Mental Health Center; Vicki McGahee, CRCF Coordinator in the SCDMH Medical Director’s Office; and Bruce Cannon, M.Ed., LPC, Emergency Director for Columbia Area Mental Health Center, were recognized for their dedication to and support of the people served by the SCDMH.

Each year NAMI South Carolina recognizes individuals and organizations that go above and beyond in advocating for people with mental illness and their families.
